What this result assumes.

The result is a planning estimate, not a substitute for the pattern, the material in front of you, or the requirements of your quilter. Keep these boundaries with the printed plan.

  • 01

Binding is cut cross-grain from straight fabric strips.

  • 02

Each diagonal join consumes approximately one cut-strip width of continuous length.

  • 03

The default 12-inch allowance covers corner handling and the final overlap; diagonal join loss is calculated separately.

  • 04

Purchases round up to an eighth yard in Imperial mode or 0.1 metre in Metric mode.

  • 05

Bias binding and strongly directional fabric require a different layout.
